I've tried many name brand loose powder. I don't wear foundation. I apply the Vincent Longo Perfect Canvas Loose Powder immediately putting facial lotion on my face. When I run my fingers over my face, after putting the powder on, my face feels so silky and smooth. It feels the same at the end of the day. I am addicted to this product. The only thing that I would complain about is the price and size. It is very expensive ($40) for 0.21 oz, but for the quality, it's worth it.

i am the official 'GURU' of all the makeup ever known to man. (well women...let's HOPE). i have lusted after color and coverage, whimsical packaging and 'the newest thing on the block'. in other words...i LOVE MAKEUP. i've tryed it all played with it all and bought, pretty much all sorts and kinds of stuff that i thought would last thru the day and make my porcelein skin look flawless.TADA. this is the BEST powder over foundation that i've ever put on my FACE. i swear it's been finely milled about 4,000 times because it
sits on my skin perfectly sweet without the 'look' of a powder.
you can hardly notice i'm wearing makeup at all.
it is soft and very FINE and smoothes out my skin to such perfection that i swear i could be a cover girl CLOSE UP on the cover of VOGUE.

Regardless of brand, I find the majority of US makeup to be too "pink" in undertones. Therefore, I launched a mission to find something with yellower undertones and Vincent Longo's Perfect Canvas was what popped up in my search. The color I purchased was "Golden Banana" so I can only speak to that one--but definitely, this is yellow. You don't look banana yellow, but for my coloring--I'm Asian with rather dark/tanned skin (naturally, not even sun-based)--this color works well for me without contrasting from my neck color. I use it with my Chanel or Makeup Forever at this time, but if you have a good, yellow-based foundation, I think it will work fine. I suspect it would also help to neutralize much of the pinkness of American makeup, too.
As for skin type, I have oily skin but have experienced a lot of dryness/scaliness lately, only on the outside. (Age??) The one downside I find to this product is that on days when I have not exfoliated and moisturized enough, this powder tends to showcase the dryness rather than mask it. (Lancome is good at the latter.) If not for really preferring the matte look, it would be better for me NOT to use powder at all on those days, so I won't dock the product for it.
But if you're Asian and you don't consider yourself to be fair, but rather medium to dark -then I would highly recommend the Golden Banana powder. I have it in the pressed version, too, to carry in my purse and it's fantastic. REALLY matte, so don't think this is a sheer "I look like I have no makeup on" product.
EDITING TO ADD: One thing to note is that the price point is high. It's not a large package and while I am certain I could use it for approximately 3-4 months (putting on makeup 6/7 days) it's still higher than some equally top-quality powders. For me, the color match makes it worthwhile, but perhaps not for everyone.
