I thought I would like the new wand, but the voluminous carbon black with the regular wand is much, much better. This wand causes my eyelashes to stick together. .and flakes at the end of the day. The regular voluminous is awesome because its buildable, very black, and never flakes or causes clumps. .and it's cheaper. .

i like it, i bought it two days ago, and it takes me like 5 mins on each eye for my eyelashes but I LOVE IT. my eyelashes seem fake because they become sooo long and with volume!! i have to say my eyelashes are pretty short, and this mascara it's the best!

I bought this mascara after seeing an ad for it and the other Voluminous products in Lucky Magazine. The brush creates good separation of the eyelashes, and makes them look as full as possible (without using false eyelashes). Clumping is minimal if you carefully remove the excess on the end of the wand before applying the mascara.

It is NOT water and smudgeproof, but if you do mistakenly rub your eye, it does not smear and give you raccoon eyes...it tends to crumble into fine particles that can be removed without totally destroying your other eye makeup.

Here's the thing...I am a total snob. Self-proclaimed. Especially when it comes to beauty products. I buy all the expensive crap from Sephora, Clinique, and Estee Lauder and generally look down my nose at all the drugstore brands. However, I have major issues with mascara. I've tried about 137 different kinds, and although there are quite a few high-end brands that work great, each tube lasts a maximum of a few weeks before all the product starts clumping together and becoming virtually unusable. I'm sick of shelling out at least $25 per month for mascara. If I'm going to throw each tube away after only a few weeks, I need to slash the expense. So, I am climbing off my high-horse and trying some of the cheaper drugstore brands.

L'Oreal Voluminous Million is the first cheap mascara I've tried. I chose this because the wand reminded me of the one that comes with Benefit's They're Real mascara, which is one of the better products I've tried. I am super impressed at how this product is holding up. I've been using it for almost a week now, and my lashes look sweeeeeeet! Rich black color, lots of volume, and also a decent amount of length. The mascara doesn't clump on the wand or flake off at the end of the day. (In fact, it's one of the trickier mascaras to remove, even when using a makeup remover.) Best of all, this stuff is less than seven bucks a tube! You really can't beat that.

The only think I'm not all that fond of is the applicator wand itself, which ironically is what drew me to this product in the first place. It reminds me of a small, rubbery caterpillar, and it's a little shorter than I'd like it to be. It's also super flexible, which is great when applying mascara, but I worry how well the tip will hold up after a few weeks. Also, some of my lashes stick together a bit if I apply more than one coat. It's not nearly as bad as the clumping issues I've had with other mascaras, but it's still worth mentioning.

I am still on my quest to find the perfect cheap mascara, but Voluminous Million isn't half bad, especially for less than seven dollars! It's worth trying.

The mascara really is pretty good but there is much better out there. This stuff crumbles even when you dont touch your eyes and I hardly wear any mascara. It also takes a very long time to get your lashes to go straight up. But if you work at it, they do turn out beautiful. Just occasionally check for crumbles under your eyes. I wont buy it again though for that very reason. For the record, I have never had a problem with mascara crumbling during the day when my eyes arent being touched.
