This dry shampoo was recommended in ALLURE and MARIE CLAIRE magazines, and their experts say to either: 1) spray it at about 12 inches from your scalp, or 2) spray on your hands, and then run the product through your hair. I've used both methods and I prefer the direct (12 inch) spray method.
To me, the scent is almost non-existant once it dries (& I have a sensitive nose). It DOES NOT smell like "PSSST!",nor does it leave a white residue like "PSST!" does.....
Those of us old enough to remember "PSST!", (which in the "olden days", was the only dry-shampoo available) will be pleasantly surprised with this product because it is SO MUCH BETTER than "PSST"!

From oily hair to looking like FRESH WASHED in 30 secs. BUT... there are drawbacks. I will list out the Pros, Cons, and packing details in the following review.I have hair that gets oily looking after a day... and I really don't want to wash it and dry it EVERY SINGLE day. I have really long hair, so it's takes a LONG time for me to wash and dry my hair. Also, I tend to have a lot of fall outs every time I wash it, so I try to avoid washing it every day. The Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo definitely allows me to get away from not washing my hair for over 2-3 days (probably even 4-5). You just need to spray it on the top of your head, on your roots... it will look kinda like white fine powder on your head, then just comb it out with your fingers/brush. You literally go from oily looking hair to looking like you just washed/dried.
The drawback: you hair won't FEEL clean:
HOWEVER, there is a reason why I only gave it 4 stars. Even though it doesn't LOOK oily, it FEELS heavy. Your hair definitely FEELS heavier and it's not as "soft" as if you just washed your hair. When you run your hand though your hair after using the dry shampoo, it feels a little "waxy". So it would be good to use if you are in a rush to go out, and you don't want to wash/dry your hair for a day or 2... but it definitely doesn't FEEL like you cleaned your hair (it LOOKS fine though). In fact, it feels a little gross when you start to use it on the second day. That's why I mentioned above that it last 2-3 days, but could probably last 4-5 days... That's cause you really feel the need to wash everything off your head by day 3. It LOOKS fine, but it doesn't FEEL good.

I saw a lot of bad reviews regarding the faulty spray... but mine was completely fine. I have owned this product for 2 weeks or so, and have used it 5-6 times, and it's working completely fine.
*** BOTTOM LINE ***
It works. If you have oily hair and you want to get away for not washing your hair EVERY SINGLE day, this stuff works WONDERS. It only takes 30 seconds, and you have light and soft looking hair again! =)

Wow, wow, WOW!! When I first sprayed this on my hair I literally said "Holy S***" and I don't curse often. I was BLOWN away. The minute I sprayed it on my hair, my hair lifted. I literally couldn't believe my eyes b/c I have tried other dry shampoos and when you spray the other stuff it doesn't "lift" your hair until after you work it in and massage in your scalp etc. I am seriously blown away. THIS IS FINALLY IT!!! I've been researching for months and finally got this after I saw this in a magazine saying that someone went as long as 5 days without washing her hair and it was the only one that could do that. this purchased this on the recommendation of my hairdresser, and absolutely love it. i do have to say that this is my first dry shampoo so i don't have anything to compare it to. however, i didn't have any problems with this dry shampoo that i've heard people have with other dry shampoos, such as stickiness, white flakes, heaviness, etc. this dry shampoo goes on non-white (unless you spray too close to the scalp; so it takes practice to aim it 10-12 inches away), is light and actually does the trick. someone said there's a grandma-like smell to it. kind of, but it's not a heavy perfumy smell, and it dissipates after awhile. i love this product.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo
I wash my hair almost every day. I have thick, Asian, coarse, straight, and highlighted hair. When I don't, my hair gets really oily. Sadly, this product isn't the best product for my type of hair. It also makes my dark brown hair look a little gray. I've used it a few times now, spraying then letting it sit as instructed, then combing through. It doesn't seem to do much, and my hair still feels oily and flat. And the smell of the product is less than desirable to me. Surprisingly, baby powder works better and even though the baby powder is white in color, it doesn't stay white. I'm disappointed, bc this dry shampoo got such great reviews on several different websites.
