I bought the pocket and full sized Masons at the same time and, instantly, was grateful I had done so. They are both amazing, like getting a scalp massage every time I brush my hair. I have very, very thick hair that gets very tangled if I'm not diligent, and this brush makes my hair silky.I'd even go so far as to say that you really don't need a bigger Mason if the pocket sized better fits your finances. I drive a convertible, mostly with the top down, and so the brush that I carry in my purse is the one that gets the most work. This is the first "miniature" brush I've ever used that has been adequate to untangle the convertible/wind mess that my hair becomes after a trip on the freeway. And I have not noticed it taking significantly longer to brush out my hair using the pocket Mason (as opposed to the junior, which I leave at home).
