This Pur Minerals Starter Kit is a great introduction to this brand. I am absolutely in love with the 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup (included in the kit). It's so much better than the Bare Escentuals makeup, which I had been using for years. The 4-in-1 provides great coverage, as it is a foundation, concealer, and spf 15 pressed powder all in one. With Bare Escentuals, I was having to buy the mineral veil, foundation and concealer all separately, and I still felt like my dark circles and blemishes were not covered well. Pur Minerals is a wonderful makeup, very lightweight, and even the brush is soft on my skin! I highly recommend it.

Having tried several mineral brands over the last 10 years, I gave Pur Minerals' 4-in-1 makeup a try. I need good coverage due to acne scars, age spots and unevenness. The challenge is finding a makeup that will do the job without ending up looking like a stage performer. The 4-in-1 makeup's finish is average and so is the coverage. It compares with Philosophy and Youngblood versions in that they are on the chalky side but not as much as L'Oreal's (which is probably the worst of the brands I've tried). For my purposes, a bit more bismuth oxychloride would probably do the trick.
The chisel brush is outstanding for application. Alone, it would rate 5 stars.
The Pink Marble Powder's use is a mystery to me. Not saturated enough to use as a blush, it's claimed to contain antioxidants. On medium dark skin it's practically invisible.
The Mineral Glow seems to work well, but with medium dark skin I'm not necessarily interested in a tanned look. It can be used as a blush or contour since it's quite natural looking.
This starter kit was a good opportunity to try several of this company's products. The perfect mineral makeup for me would have excellent coverage, a natural finish and include beneficial additives (sunscreen, antioxidants, etc.) all in one product. These products, as a whole, are close but not quite there.

I have to be honest. I bought in to all the hype of mineral make-ups. My sister uses the bare essentials and her skin looked flawless and she has uneven tones like I do. I didn't want to pay the price or join the club so I tried Pur MInerals. I still had to use a "cover-up" under my eyes and blemishes and had to put pur minerals on rather heavy to get the "flawless" look. But then it looked too powdery. I started using my regular cover-girl foundation and powder again as I felt it covered better and less heavy. Just a note, my sister said she still uses a "Cover up stick" when using bare essentials too, but she looked beautiful in it.Honest reviews on Pur Minerals Start Now Essentials Collection, Deeper, 4 ct
I have been on the search for a new makeup and have been disappointed in so many, so I have been pleasantly surprised with how much I like the Pur Minerals. I sets nicely and I don't feel "made up". I like that there are no chemicals in it as I have pretty sensitive skin. This is not a heavy makeup so if you're looking for max coverage this is not for you. I love the mineral glow too. It gives me the perfect glow without looking fake. I will be buying this again.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Pur Minerals Start Now Essentials Collection, Deeper, 4 ct
This is by far my favorite mineral makeup. It covers better and stays on longer than my Bare Essenctuals Bare Minerals makeup. I still need to use a concealer stick for dark spots and my serious under eye circles, but that's true with any foundation I've ever tried, including liquid types.Pur minerals doesn't irritate or cause break outs on my sensitive acne prone skin, plus the coverage looks natural and I don't have to worry about the dreaded dark face/whiter neck problem I usually have with liquid foundations.
The kit I got, Medium Blush, is perfect for my fair skin. (If you are super super fair with warm undertones, this might be a bit too dark. This is the lightest warm undertone shade in Pur Minerals, and I wish they made one a tad lighter. For comparison, I wear Fairly Light in Bare Minerals.)
I love the Marble powder, because it's such a nice natural blush shade. The Mineral Glow is good too, adding just a hint of healthy color and shimmer without making you look orange or like a Twilight vampire.:)The Chisel brush itself would be worth the price of the kit. I've never used this type of brush before, but it gives fabulous coverage. I will definitely be repurchasing in the future.
