It turns out to be very hard to find a vented boar-bristle hairbrush online. Most boar bristle brushes are solid wood (not vented). So I was thrilled to find this hairbrush online. I was looking for a brush like this that I could use when straightening my hair. I've been told that boar bristles help your hair shine more, which is good when you abuse your hair several times a week with a hair dryer, as I do.

The only surprise with this brush is that it looked, from the picture, like a paddle brush, and actually it's an elliptical brush. Not a round brush. More like an oval shape. Ultimately, this is okay with me it's ALMOST a paddle brush but it won't satisfy anyone whose heart was set on a true paddle brush.

Also, I felt the bristles were a bit too short. Normally short is best for long hair (at least when you're using a plastic paddle brush like what they sell in drugstores) but for some reason, with the boar bristles, I think I might be better off with a slightly longer bristle. Without that little plastic knob at the end of the plastic Conair brushes I'm used to, there's less to "catch" onto your hair and keep it on the brush. I compensate by making sure to dry my hair in sections, so the brush only has to catch onto a thin layer at a time.

I have owned this brush for well over a year now and I love it. I have long wavy hair and it dries my hair quickly. The handle started to slip off after a while but hasn't really disturbed my usage and if I were really motivated I would glue it back on.

I like that its all boar hair.

Although, this brush took about 4 weeks to get delivered it was well worth the wait. I always blow-dry my hair and have always wanted a ceramic brush so I read up on the brush and decided to buy it. Today was my first day using the brush and let me tell you, I usually dread misty/rainy days and for the most part wear my hair curly. But today was a special day I had the Olivia Garden Ceramic+Ion Mega Brush, I straightened my hair with the brush in 10 min of which I normally take 20 and now it is 5 PM and my hair is still straight. It didn't curl up or frizz. I LUV, absolutely LUV this brush!!!
