After paying to have this applied at a salon, I bought this set since I already had a UV light. If you are good at polishing your nails you can do this yourself and save plenty. You need to be committed to the color because it takes a half hour to soak it off. I have gone 3 weeks so far without a single chip on the ones I did myself. The "matching" OPI lacquers do NOT match all that well so I've had to learn to "fill" the bottom part because the tip color lasts like iron and is much shinier than any other polish. Oh and it doesn't have everything you need; you NEED acetone to soak this stuff off. The NAS99 (aka rubbing alcohol) does great for clean up and it IS included. But once this stuff is cured by the light you need to big guns to take it off. I have nice natural nails and this stuff is IT for keeping a neat manicure..highly recommend it for the committed.

I still love this stuff going ON, but read the reviews about others having it professionally removed. I find if I soak for an hour PLUS I can get 90% of it off. But getting the other 10% off damages my nails. I am an OPI addict (have the attenae topper to prove it) and hate to "confess" but I tried CND Shellac two weeks ago and it DOES what Axxium says it will do:goes on like polish and comes off easily (with a 10 minute soak). I will keep my Axxium for my feet, because it stays on great until the whole thing pops off after a month. But I'm going to CND Shellac (painfully expensive) for my hands. I'm psycho for a perfect manicure and both these products deliver for the home user.

Ok i tried this opi gel manicure after the nail lady said it would last 2 weeks...i thought yeah ok my manicure usually lasts 2 days well after 3 weeks i just got a small chip on my pinky. I am very rough with my nails, gardening, kids, dogs, computer, work as a nurse hands in water all day!! This new manicure is the BEST dont even hasitate. try it at your salon then do it yourself. The best ever invention!!

This stuff is awesome! Regular nail polish doesn't even last a day on my paper thin soft nails. This stuff not only last almost 2 weeks for me but makes my nails stronger without making them unaturally tick like acrylics. Your manicurist needs to be patient when removing this though. I found a really great way to do this on another brand's website. soak a cotton ball with acetone, set it on your nail, and wrap your fingertip in foil. If you leave this for 10-30 minutes, it peels up on its own (no scraping or drilling) I also like this method because my fingers aren't soaking in the acetone which severely dries my skin.

I have used both CND and OPI soak off gel nails and here's what I have found works for ME. I have found that using a combo of both is what I like. Strength wise my nails are average. The girl that does my nails uses the OPI gel base followed by either the OPI gel color or CND Shellac color and then uses the CND gel top coat. She doesn't like the OPI top coat. Does not think it's shiny enough. i found that when I used the CND base coat that it didn't last anywhere near 2 weeks. Started chipping after 3-4 days! The OPI is a little harder to soak off but here's what i did last time and it was fine. i soak mine off before going to salon. I take a buffer or file and buff my nails well. Pour some acetone in a glass dish and soak for 10-15 minutes. Then use an orange stick and start gently removing the gel. Take some gel off and then put back into acetone until it's all off. takes about 20-25 minutes per hand. by the time i watch an episode of Ellen, Oprah or whatever i'm done! I've probably had about 10 applications of gel nails and my nails still look fine. I understand that some salons charge to remove gel, mine does not, but i still prefer to do the soak off at home.

I treated myself to a professional manicure for the first time for my birthday two months ago. Until then, I had always done my own nails. One of my friends told me about the gel nail polish and I was intrigued so I got that. I am amazed with this gel polish! First, your nails are completely dry when you leave the salon, so you can do anything immediately and there will not be a smudge, chip, or smear.There's a special UV light that dries your nails in 5 minutes, it's awesome! Second, the polish stays shiny and does not chip and my nails do not chip, split, break, for three weeks! I have the healthiest nails of my life! I used to pick at my cuticles until they bled and they would look gross but with this gel polish, I haven't done that.

This polish stays on and looks great for about three weeks. You need acetone to take it off and that takes about 15-20 minutes. I haven't tried to remove the polish myself, I've been going to the salon but I think it's totally worth it. One draw back is OPI only has a limited amount of colors but other companies are coming out with various colors so my manicurist is going to try those as well. Another draw back is that you have to be committed to one color for a few weeks. Oh! I am told that you should NOT try peeling the polish off because that can damage your nails, since the polish binds with your nails. So it's a really good idea to get your nails redone around the three week mark just to keep from doing that to yourself. Other than that, I am sold on the gel polish, I wish they had it years ago. I LOVE it!!
