Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My experience with electric shavers prior to this one has been disappointing. I have never been able to find one that gave a close shave. especially around my neck. I am pleased to report that the Phillips Norelco 1160cc/42 SensoTouch 2d Electric Shaver is an exception to this rule. I have been using the shaver for two weeks now and each successive shave has been better than the previous one. I am now able to claim that the shaver shaves as well as a blade but without scraping my skin as blades do, thus my skin is not rough. The shaver is comfortable and, by varying the angle of the shaver, I have been able to get all of my neck shaved as well as my cheeks and chin. The included trimmer is easy to attach and is useful for trimming side burns. Also included with the shaver is a cleaning system which keeps the shaver fit for use. Finally, Phillips offers a solution to the problem of being unable to shave due to the shaver losing its charge; plug the shaver into the recharger for a few minutes and the shaver with quick charge the shaver so that it works for a few minutes, long enough to do a quick shave. If the contours of your face have not lent themselves to the contours of electric shavers in the past, or, your neck hair grows in a circular pattern that defeats any electric shaver you have used before, then I recommend giving this shaver a try as I am in a similar situation and the shaver has worked fine for me.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've read review after review complaining about how this won't give a close shave...NEWSFLASH!!! electric shavers work differently than a manual disposable razor. They don't give as close of a shave, and some people prefer that (as a woman, I might say that some men are more physically attractive like that too, hehe). Anyways, my point is this...don't buy an electric shaver if you want a perfectly smooth 100% stubble-free shave because you aren't going to get it with this razor or any other electric one no matter how much you pay for it.With that being said, this is a pretty snappy looking electric razor, but performs just like any other forty dollar electric razor as well as your two hundred plus dollar electric razors. My husband has used quite a few electric razors over the years and has found that majority of them shave the same, some just have better features than others and some are less painful...but the end result is always the same. Some pros and cons summarized below for you...
PROS
-Attractive design modernizing anybodies bathroom countertop
-Extremely long battery life (my husband used this everyday for about 8 minutes and a single charge lasted over 2 weeks)
-Very easy to clean manually (head snaps off & on easily)
-Ergonomic design that fits comfortably in small hands as well as larger hands
-Charging/cleaning base has good rubber feet to "stick" to counter surface regardless if wet or dry without slipping around.
-Doesn't 'pull' hairs uncomfortably during shaving and has a nice slightly vibrating feeling that is kind of relaxing on the face
CONS
-Charging/cleaning base is EXTREMELY large and cumbersome
-I find the cleaning system a waste as a simple weekly manual cleaning if you use it dry or daily rinse after shaving if using creams works just as well to keep the head clean and in working order (assuming you lubricate your blades as necessary also). You have to change the cleaning liquid so often that it's cost is like doubling your shaving cream expense. Others may not mind this, but I didn't find it cleaned the head any better than good ol' fashioned H2O.
-It's head doesn't pivot as well as they advertise, which means you have to work it into trickier areas
Overall, an OK shaver. My husband likes it and uses it quite often, but still occasionally wants that 'close' shave and breaks out the Mach3 disposables. I hate giving this a lower star rating because of it's price, but I feel it is priced higher because of the JetClean system, which as I stated earlier, to me seems to be a waste of resources.
Oh, and P.S. Philips...the pics of the guy models getting groped don't encourage one to buy the product, but they did make me giggle.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Electric shavers aren't just for Christmas -let's face it, almost every home has at least one, and they're terrific and versatile for both men and women alike, when quality products. But the Philips Norelco 1160XCC (SensoTouch 2D Electric Shaver with Jen Clean System) does go above and beyond whatever electric shaving experiences you've had before.
The shaver itself is sleek and elegant in appearance. (I immediately dubbed mine The Bat-Shaver! It's the Batmobile of electric shavers.) Its cleaning system means that you'll need some counter space to store it conveniently and accessibly, but the system itself is so streamlined and easy that it's entirely worth the effort.
The 1160XCC is easy to set up, and just requires an hour to charge. It comes complete with cleaning solution and extremely easy instructions for quick setup. The shaver itself offers a smooth, flat, rounded head that moves seamlessly over even or uneven surfaces (whether a guy's jawline or a woman's knee), and the battery lasts for over a dozen shaves or more before needing to be recharged. It can be used with or without shaving cream, and wet or dry, depending on your preference. The shaver is quiet but powerful, yet so streamlined it's hardly bigger than a disposable razor. The handle is organically shaped and easy to grasp, and every aspect of the product seems to have been prethought with a little extra care for convenience and ease of use.
The shaver's cleaning system was an added benefit, and one I really appreciated. The 1160XCC comes with the solution you need, and all you need to do is pour it into the special receptacle, and the shaver is clean, gleaming, and good as new, and ready for the next challenge.
I'd definitely recommend this shaver to anyone seeking to pamper themselves or the men in their lives, and it would make a terrific gift for the holidays, as well.
Shave on!
Honest reviews on Philips Norelco 1160X SensoTouch 2d Electric Shaver with Jet Clean
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've used electric razors in the past and not had the best experience with them. I could never get a very close shave. I've had much better success with this razor. It doesn't get shave as close as my old Mach 3 of course, but is very quick and convenient and shaves as close as you can expect an electric razor to shave. After using it nearly every day for nearly three months it's still going strong and remains my choice for my daily morning shave. I have a fairly sensitive face and this razor does not irritate my face much at all, even shaving dry. This razor comes with a lot of parts and I honestly don't use most of them except for the smaller charger that is included. The Jen Clean system is nice and usefull to clean the razor every now and then, but removing the blades and rinsing the razor off with water is very simple with this razor. I usually charge the razor after each use so I haven't really had to test out the razor's ability to hold a charge, but I've had no problems using it for 10 minutes or so. I also like the fact that the charger shuts off as soon as the razor is fully charged. This razor also feels solid and well made in your hand. I would recommend this razor to anyone looking for a good quality, rasonably priced electric razor.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have always had bad feeling about electric razors they make me think of my grandpas and always make me think of old spice after shave. I tried electric razors in the past (always hand me downs) used them once or twice and always got rid of them. The Philips however has come along way from what I was used to. First it holds a charge longer than any of my smaller shavers that I had used for my goatee. It charges quickly which I appreciate. It also gives me a very smooth shave with minimal effort and so far no razor burn which I was fearful of.
For people who have doubts about electric razors I would suggest they give the Philps Norelco a try they will be surprised.
