I get a haircut every 3-4 weeks and I color my hair right after I get my haircut. It does create quite a mess but I use an old t-shirt and towel so that hasn't been an issue.
My pointers to those who are new to this product:
1) To prevent your finger nails getting dark and messy (and look like those of an auto mechanic), wear a plastic glove when washing your hair right after you dye your hair.
2) I squeeze the air out of the tube and close it tight after I use about 1/3 to 1/2 of the tube as my short hair doesn't need entire tube. This way I can use it 2-3 times. I wash the comb clean and keep it for next use.
3) I use liquid soap (instead of vaseline) to cover my forehead and neck line to prevent potential stains on my skin.
4) I sleep with a dark towel on my pillow first couple of nights right after my coloring because I find the dye stains my pillow case.
All this seems like a lot of work but once you get used to it, it's actually not that bad. I chuck it as a price I have to pay trying to look younger. ;)

I've used the old version of this product for awhile, and this one is the new incarnation. It's supposed to "stop" the color process when the desired color has been reached. Not sure if this really works, or not, as I never had a problem with my old coloring going too dark. I use "real black" though, so this may not be as evident as someone with lighter hair. The only thing that seems to be different with this (as a negative) than the older product is that it tends to splatter much more in the shower, during rinse. Not sure if I'm just using more, or if it's thicker, or what. As with just about any coloring I use, there are some greys at the hairline that just don't color. I actually have to use the beard/moustache gel for them, for whatever reason. I know it's needed, so it's become routine. My barber tells me this is actually very common.
On the positive side, the comb applicator seems to work very well.
So...I keep using this, and have been happy with it.

Works great for me. The color pretty much lasts until the gray starts growing in. My stylist has told me on numerous occasions that is looks completely natural even as the gray is growing back in. Not only does he have no reason to lie to me, but he'd be better off telling me it looks bad or fake so that he could color in my gray and charge me for an extra service. I personally don't think the applicator is perfect, so I have a comb I use to distribute the color more evenly after applying it with their applicator. I only use about 1/3 of a tube each time, so I make sure the air is out of the tube by squeezing it gently until the product reaches the top of the tube, then screw the cap back on tightly. The longest I have stretched out a tube is about a month and the color still works fine even though the box says the color will oxidize and be useless unless you use it right away. There will be a small amount of oxidized color when re-opening the tube, but you just gently squeeze it out and remove it and the rest of the color will be fine. Someone else had said the product can splatter and yes, it does to that if you are not careful but I guess all hair coloring is like that. Really does take only 10-15 minutes from start to finish.Honest reviews on JUST FOR MEN Auto Stop Hair Color
I use the regular Just for men, and I decided to try this. But color only lasts ONE day!!!It was completely gone completely, the next day. Totally worthless. Did they even test this? Im back to the original one now.
