I've been using the classic Maybelline Great Lash Mascara for years and it just keeps getting better and better. I have large eyes and long lashes so I actually prefer the BIG wand to the standard wand as it means less maneuvering and clumps. The washable is pretty comparable to the waterproof because it comes off easily when you're ready to take it off but doesn't run during the day/night. I've been a fan of DiorShow and Lancome Magnascopic in the past but they're literally 6-10x as expensive respectively and I can't spend $30-50 on mascara every three months. As far as volume, length, color and longevity are concerned, this mascara has stood the test of time. Through all the new mascara trends, from oscillating wands to eclectic colors, there's a reason Great Lash is still being producedbecause it works.

To address any potential concerns of buyers who have read negative reviews from others, I urge you to consider these points:

-If you're concerned about washable mascara running in heat/underwater, get waterproof.

-The mascara is labeled "BIG" and you can easily read up on the product to know what you're getting.

-Who uses soap&water to remove mascara??? Use make-up remover, Vaseline or baby oil.

-If your mascara smears all over while you're applying, that's your fault, not the mascara's.

Does not provide very much volume or length. I had to go over my lashes several times to get them to look right. The worst part of all was that it would smudge very badly. I would not only get black smudges below and above my eyes where my lashes hit, but it would also give me racoon eyes underneath. I was constantly having to worry about it and wiping it off. I could not continue using it because of this and had to buy something else.

I've tried a lot of mascaras. There are a few that are better, but dry out too fast, or won't clean off your lashes enough, or flake after a while, or smudge... This meets my needs in every area even if it isn't *amazing* in one, so I always come back to it. Note: the BIG wand this is the one thing that makes it superior to the normal Maybelline mascara. Same product, better application.

I'm really not a fan of the good ol' maybeline "pink and green" tube. But for the price, I figured I'd give this one a shot. The brush really does make it easier and faster to get more out of your own lashes. A few quick coats is all it takes because the brush IS so large. I can compare it to MAC opulash, (if you've ever tried that) for less than a quarter of the price! I wish the formula was a bit thicker but all in a all a great everyday mascara that gives length and volume in a hurry.
