This really deserves less than one star--or negative stars. One of the reviews mentioned a petroleum smell, but I thought, "how bad could that be, it'll subside over time." Nooooo. It won't. Believe that review!!! These little things surely must be toxic; one brush can literally funkify an entire room, making it smell like the BP blowout. I'm not kidding. I should have sent it back but decided to recycle the entire 6-pack. Hopefully during recycling they can decontaminate them. This product is only suitable for your worst enemy.

There are other brands out there with similar designs. Buy theLewis N. Clark Folding Travel Brush with Mirror. Excellent, cheap and you get a nice handle with a mirror, too. I don't know what the tiny mirror is good for, but the handle is nice and there's no hint of toxic chemical waste.

Hard to mess this one up. 6 brushes + shipping for under $10 hard to beat. The brushes work well enough. In collapsed position they are easily pocketable. Easy to pop open. Need to get the hang of it to collapse them. Once you do they work just fine [to collapse more easily place thumbs at base of bristles on long edge and push inward toward middle of brush]. Nice they don't have a handle makes them more compact. I fully expect plastic tips at end of bristles to fall off over time (as with more expensive brushes) but that's to be expected at this price point. I would recommend.

The other reviews about the toxic smell are accurate. Comments on the quality are accurate as well. The only other thing I can add is that mine arrived in a multicolor pack (purple, pink and blue) so I was pretty dissapointed as I am not likely to use any color but black.

These brushes are just awesome!

I think the critique about the smell is over-dramatized.

If you sniff a brush it does smell a bit like gasoline. Personally I like the way the brush smells, yet I can understand how some won't.

However, unless you intend to use it to comb your mustache it is hardly a problem.

Super cool product. Highly recommended!

I bought 6 of these because in the past I found them available in a local store. They are great pocket brushes.

Currently, these are unusable because of the horrible smell! As another person mentioned, they have a very strong smell like gasoline or diesel fuel. I've tried washing them, soaking them in soapy water overnight but the smell remains.

Very disappointed. Maybe if I left them in my cat's litterbox, I can get the smell to dissipate.

UPDATE: Well, I had to throw these brushes out. The smell was so bad I could not carry them, let alone use them. Don't waste your time or money.
