I did some research before buying this. The reviews I found were so-so. I ended up buying it anyway (Drew Barrymore advertising outweighed the bad reviews). I'm going to go over some of the common complaints:

1Brush too big and clumsyI am clumsy in general and found this brush helpful. It takes a bit of practice to get the inner corners but the brush is wonderful.

2ClumpingI have not exerienced clumping of any kind with this product.

3Too much mascara on the brushDON'T PUMP THE BRUSH!! The brush gives the perfect amount. If one keeps pumping the brush, of course there will be a big mess.

4Flaking I have not experienced flaking with this product. I use two coats and wait at least 4 minutes between coats. I think flaking is due to having too much wet product on at once. Would recommend a little product with more coats and a four-minute dry time in between.

5Hard to remove from skinIf this gets on my skin while it's wet, I immediately wipe it off. It is easy to remove when wet. I have found a problem removing the mascara at night. Creme remover does not cut it. I suggest oil based remover for an easier time of removing the makeup.

My impressions: This wears well, it doesn't run or rub off-even the nonwaterproof version. My lashes look amazing. The brush makes it easier to apply. I haven't had one day where I've blinked from having the brush on my eyelashes (causing raccoon eye as a result).

I love this stuff and will continue to buy it!

I have posted this everywhere because I really love it!!!

I was a loyal user of Lash Out. I have very thin and short lashes and Lash Out would make them longer and fuller. One of my co-workers has the longest and fullest lashes I've ever seen, so I asked her what mascara she used and she told me Lashblast in black. Of course, after many years of using the same mascara I was a little hesitant, so I decided to do some research. There are some bad reviews about it but most of them are great, so I decided why not give it a try. What do I have to lose? $6.00 at the local pharmacy? So I got it and I do not regret it. I get so many compliments and a few people have asked me if I am wearing fake lashes. This is a fantastic product, it washes off easily and makes my lashes look fuller and longer than ever without making them feel heavy or lumpy. The brush is big but I love it because it covers more and faster. My eyes are very sensitive and I have not problems whatsoever with it running or irritating my eyes. My tip to applying this mascara is to have your eyes semi closed while pushing the brush up. I apply about two coats, wait a few seconds and apply an extra coat. With my other mascara I had to apply it about 6 times on each eye. I have recommended it to everyone I know and the ones that have bought it love it as well. Get it, and if you don't like it you can always return it. Yep, you can return makeup if you buy it at your local chain Pharmacy, not sure if I can mention their names here but one starts with CV, and the other one with Walg. :oP

My favorite mascara of all time is, Estee Lauder's 'More Than Mascara.' It delivers the blackest black and fullest lashes of all, while seeming to condition the lashes. But it is costly, so I have been experimenting with more affordable mascaras for work-day wear. So far, I've not had too much luck; the closest to Lauder's being, Almay's One Coat Nourishing Mascara.

Now to the Lash Blast. First off, the unit is very big, and fat; it looks cool, but proves impractical. It takes up more space than necessary in my makeup kit. Since the wand cap, itself, is so HUGE, it is awkward to hold, and, the brush is enormous, too, with minimal end tapering. It is difficult to manipulate, unless you have eyes the size of a giraffe, without risk of poking yourself in the eye, particularly when trying to get to those smaller, inner corner, or lower lashes. Thirdly, the brush loads very heavily and it's difficult to wipe off excess because of the stiff plastic bristles. And lastly, if you have straight lashes, that require quite a bit of curling before mascara application, you will find that your lashes will NOT hold the curl, because the product stays rather soft on the lashes. This is probably why, for me, I did not notice the flaking, and/or smearing that often occurs with mascaras that tend to harden-up on the lashes; I just noticed droopy lashes---within 10 minutes.

On the plus side, the product covers well and does thicken the appearance of the lashes and it is easy to wash off. The ladies fortunate enough to have lashes with good curl will likely enjoy this product more than I, and, the soft formulation is probably healthier for lashes, than the products that stiffen. Unfortunately, it just won't work for me, unless I get a lash perm.

Everyone has their own issues with their lashes and prefer different types of formulations, brushes, wands, etc. Therefore, I can't say you wouldn't love Lash Blast---and it's affordable enough to give it a try. But I still can't recommend it for those with straight lashes, or challenged dexterity. I can almost guarantee disappointment for them.

Honest reviews on CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara 1 ea

I've been using this mascara for a few years now, but I'm probably going to switch after my current bottle runs out. I've liked it, but I'm 16 and when I started using this a couple years ago I wasn't really concerned with researching my makeup or anything (which I now do a little obsessively). Basically the good things about it are that it really does volumize your lashes and it rarely gets chunky unless you put a ton on. I've found, though, that it's kind of like a natural looking volume, so it's good for wearing to school/work, but if you want a more dramatic lash, I think that would be more easily achieved with another product (I'm pretty sure this is a run-on sentence, sorry). It doesn't stay looking completely fresh all day as it does smudge a tiny bit, but it's not noticeable to other people. For the most part, I think it's a really good everyday mascara if you're going to take the time to touch up every two hours. Unfortunately I don't really get a chance to or like touching up my makeup at school, so that's why I'm probably going to switch. However, I've also tried the waterproof version and it does last longer than this.

I bought this item after seeing and feeling the brush on display at the store, and seeing the beautiful lashes on the commercials. I love the brush! It did take a little getting used to, but overall I think it's the best brush ever, there's no clumping on the bristles, and the small amount product on the end of the brush doesn't leave lumps of product on your lashes like most brushes do! The other reviewers are correct that pumping the brush is unnecessary! I only use one coat, seems to do well enough for me. I don't use an eyelash curler or anything with it, and I do notice thickening of each lash and good separation of the lashes, resulting in close-to-the-commercial results. If I had to have a complaint with this product, it is that when it gets wet and runs down your cheeks, be prepared for the fight of your life to get all of it off. (Hint: The quicker you act, the better!) I'll continue to buy this exact mascara until I die, or until they quit making it! Try it, you'll love it!
