The bristles are soft though it doesn't feel the same as the regular bare minerals flawless face brush with the black handle. It doesn't hold as much powder as a kabuki brush as expected. It was worth it for the price and some I don't wear a lot is make up during a typical day. I use my kabuki brush I'd I want more coverage.
