I wanted a dramatic eye makeup look, so I decided to try this kind of liquid eyeliner by Almay because it says that it's hypoallergenic, which sounded good as sometimes makeup can irritate my eyes.

Applying this product was not too difficult. Although I haven't used liquid eyeliner before, I have a steady hand and found that the applicator made it relatively easy to make a nice, smooth line along my lash line. It made the attractive, dramatic look that I'd been wanting.

However, not long after applying the product I found that my eyes were getting quite irritated. Looking in the mirror I noticed that there were several black flakes of product floating around in my eyes. (I know it wasn't my mascara because I was using the same Clinique Eye Care Naturally Glossy Mascara 01 Jet Black - that I habitually use and I have never had similar problems with that.)

I removed my eye makeup that night and another night tried the Almay liquid eyeliner again, hoping the first time had been a fluke. Unfortunately the product began to flake shortly after application again, and irritated my eyes. I'm not sure why the product flaked so aggressively, because I wasn't rubbing my eyes.

The eyeliner did apply nicely, but didn't have even a fraction of the staying power that the package claimed, and also irritated my eyes despite being called hypoallergenic.

Back in the old days, there was a product from Revlon that was liquid

eyeliner in a small square type jar that was fantastic.

It allowed you to use a controllable paintbrush type liner brush, that

was separate from the liquid liner product.

That made it easy to apply like any artist painting fine lines in a

painting.

I just started to use liquid eyeliner again, after many years, and I

have not been able to find it's match. Most liquid eyeliners come in a

long cylindrical tube, and in order for the application tip to be able to

reach the eyeliner itself, the brush part is very long in length, and has

the cap part on the end for you to hold. This makes it almost

impossible to work with.

I was using Dr. Hauschka, and it was almost impossible to apply well.

Therefore, when I saw this liner, I ordered it. I would be happier if it

was a larger size with more fluid in it.. even if it were to cost more.

I would be happier with it if the money spent didn't go to buy the

brush it comes with, as it is a little bit difficult and scratchy to work

with... but overall, until I find something better, it is a size that you

can use with a regular brush.. and even if you use it with the cap

brush that it comes with, you have more control over the brush. that

what I have found so far , even though the brush itself is not that high

quality and the eyeliner gets more scratched on than applied.. Of

course using a separate brush is the answer for this.

So far, I have not had any bad reactions to the liner itself.

It seems to stay on fairly well.

I won't say it is as great as the old Revlon was.

I am not particularly happy with the size of the jar itself.

I won't say it is as good for you as a Dr. Hauschka product is.

However, for what it is, and for what I have been able to find around

so far

it is the better game in town.

So I do recommend it.

I've been wearing liquid eyeliner for the past 19 years of my life, and I've tried every brand that's out there. Based on trial and error, I've found Almay eyeliner with the ink well pot to be the best.

1: it won't start peeling off like some liquid eyeliners do. It seems to really adhere nicely to my skin until I'm ready to take it off.

2: unless you're rubbing your eyes, it's pretty smudgeproof.

3: it really lasts, I love not having to reapply it. I put it on in the morning and it stays on all day. Sometimes I do have to touch it up at the end of the day. But, that's not a problem.

4: it washes off easily when you're ready to take it off.

Liquid eyeliner is awesome, but it does take some practice and getting use to. The most important thing is to remember not to blink until it's dried. Fortunately, Almay eyeliner dries pretty fast. Much faster than other brands I've used.

If you want a really dramatic look, liquid's the way to go. I'll NEVER use a pencil eyeliner, nor would I ever use another brand except for this one.

I wear eyeliner every day and have recommended this eyeliner to a number of friends. I have Asian eyes and need to put on a pretty thick layer for the liner to show. The applicator tip is very defined and accurate and the color is a dark black (not opaque or "watery" looking like some other liquid eyeliners).

I don't have double eyelids so I'm always aware of getting my eyeliner getting smudged or looking oily, but this eyeliner holds up really well. If i go out in the evenings, I usually reapply another layer to make up for any liner that may have gotten rubbed off throughout the day.

I have worked with several entertainers and show girls... And hands down this is a entertainers choice. Also I am a makeup artist in town and do several weddings this wont budge in the heat....I buy several at a time so I don't run out...spending 30 dollars on a liquid liner not needed :)
