I am not normally a Cover Girl user, but this mascara came as the free gift with some at-home haircolor and I was VERY pleasantly surprised. It is now my go to mascara, and I like it equally well as my other drugstore favorite (L'oreal Telescopic Original). For me, this product does not make my lashes seem quite as long as the L'oreal Telescropic but it does not smudge AT ALL under the eye (and Telescopic does). In fact I was surprised to read others' reviews complaining of smudges because I've never experienced that with Cover Girl Volume Exact. I love it. I recently tried Cover Girl Lash Exact hoping for similar results with added length, but I was not as impressed with that product. I'll stick with this, it's fantastic!

I am so sad this mascara has been discontinued from the CoverGirl line! The waterproof formula is the only thing that keeps the curl in my eye lashes. The brush is the perfect size and separates each lash so they aren't clumpy but still gives plenty of volume. The best mascara I have ever used was Cover Girl's Volume Exact (waterproof forumla), but now they have discontinued it, although you can still get it online. 'CG's volume exact waterproof formula' makes it look like you have fake lashes on but still natural looking. 'CG's volume exact non-waterproof formla' does not provide the same fake lash look. So it is something about the brush and the formula in 'CG's Volume Exact waterproof formula' that provide you with that natural but fake lash look. I don't wear mascara everyday, but it provides you the effect that you want when you do wear mascara. Hope they bring it back! I was very excited for this mascara and wasn't disappointed when I put it on. However, I couldn't get it off with ANYTHING. As always my beloved products get canned. This is the only mascara i have ever used that doesn't smudge onto my skim below my eyes. Yes, i use powder! Not sure what i'm going to do when i run out of my stockpile & can't get anymore. I've tried many other brands and many other coverGirl mascaras. I don't know why this one was different & so much better.
