I like these a lot though how they name the sizes seems misleading. I use the "blush brush" size most frequently as it is smaller than the name would lead one to think. It's probably better to err on the side of buying too small than too large. Starting with the variety pack will allow you to get a feel for any additional ones you might need.If you put these on your brushes to protect them when throwing them in a bag, make sure they are a snug size because if they move backward they will push the bristles in the wrong direction & potentially ruin the brush... when they don't move they are great at protecting bristles & maintaining their shape.
For drying bristle-end down (so water doesn't sit near the handle & loosen the glue) after washing they are excellent & allow air to circulate to dry faster. Keep in mind that the more bristles the greater the drying time so fatter brushes would be unlikely to be ready for use if you wash them the night before needing them in the morning. I bought a cheap open weave pencil cup from the dollar store to sit the brush & guard unit in while drying so it allows even more air to circulate.

I got one of these as a sample and was immediately hooked, so I bought them in every size to take care of all my makeup brushes. To use them, just wash your brushes out, shape them a little by hand, and slip the brush guard up the handle and over the bristles. Then simply let dry. When done your brush bristles will be properly aligned and compact, not sticking out in every direction. You can even stand the brushes up to dry in a cup on the end of the brush guard with the handle up and the bristles facing down if you make sure the brush guard extends past the end of the bristles a little.Honest reviews on Coastal Scents The Brush Guard, Blush Pack, 0.60-Ounce
Another reviewer mentioned that these guards were too small for her brushes, and I completely agree. I purchased this set and the kabuki brush guard set, and the latter works much better for blush brushes. This set is too small and it is very difficult to make the guards go over the brush handles, which tend to be pretty thick. I actually managed to rip a couple just trying to slide the guards over the handles. I tried the kabuki set and this worked wonders, as it stretches wide enough for the handles and shrinks back over the bristles and keeps the brush shape perfectly. Don't buy this set, buy the kabuki set for your blushes, it is a better fit.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Coastal Scents The Brush Guard, Blush Pack, 0.60-Ounce
I recently purchased these brush guards for all my new makeup brushes. I've seen several videos on how to properly clean your makeup brushes, and how to dry them. Using these brush guards are excellent in the sense that they do keep the shape of the makeup brushes. This is important, if you want them to maintain their useful shape. The only downside is that when I put the brush guards on at night, after I clean my makeup brushes, by the time morning comes around, my thicker brushes are still wet (not soaking), but still damp and wet. So, I remove the brush guards in the morning, fluff out my medium and thicker brushes, and stand them up, upside down, to dry some more.If you have another set of brushes on hand, then this should not be an issue for you. you can use the other set, while these continue to dry.
Even if you don't put makeup on everyday, this should not be an issue either. But, if you want them dry, you need to wait a bit longer for the thicker brushes to dry completely.
