This is a great matte color palette! I had looked everywhere for matte shadows because they look much better on eyelids that are over 40. I had read an article about frosted shadows making eyelids look olderboy, were they right! I cannot get over how much better the matte shadows look! This palette will take you from day to night with mostly neutral colors with a few bold colors.

This palette is a spectacular value at $22 and free shipping. Consider the fact that you're getting 10 very good quality eye shadows that have a very unique look to them, PLUS a Stila smudge stick, PLUS a very nice case. I loved this palette from the first time I swatched it in my local store and compared it to the other similar palettes but with different shades which Stila has put out for the spring. But there was no way I was going to pay full price :-) In addition, the purple cased palette was definitely not my favorite, while the light tan cased palette was crumbly, difficult to blend and just overall horrible. This one In The Garden is the definitive winner of the 3. If you're thinking of picking it up, don't hesitate because as I said, the price on this palette can't be beat. Twenty two bucks!

Compared to Urban Decay palettes, I much prefer this one. There's zero sparkle on my cheeks after application, as well as zero fallout with the shadows on me. They also last all day over my eye primer, cream shadow, paint pots or NYX jumbo shadow sticks as a base without creasing or fading at all. Mentioning that they fade without primer is a given, so I don't know why people even bother saying this. ANY eye shadow will fade or crease without primer, and it's not necessary to use a ridiculously expensive base under these or any eye shadows. Every shade in this palette blends very smoothly and easily and are not just your typical shades of greens and purple/blue. They've got an extra unique 'something' about them as they are not typical flat shades for the most part. The 'shimmer' shades are also not frosty, not gaudy, not metallic looking. But they definitely look plush and pigmented and have a gorgeous sheen to them, especially over a decent base. Just experiment and you'll see how that can change the intensity & even the color of each shade.Â

There are 8 shimmer/sheen shades, and 2 which are completely matte and great for highlighting and the inner corner of the eye. But the shimmer shades are the wow shades. The teal green is an amazing shade that isn't a typical teal seen in other eye shadow palettes. Likewise the purple and the other shimmer shades. They're all gorgeous. Because the shadows are very much buildable, you can also apply them as lightly or ad heavily as you'd like them to be. Lighter for office wear for example and more intense for evening or weekends.Â

I'd definitely buy this palette again, especially at this price. The only way it could possibly be better is if a mascara and smudge pot were included!

This palette is amazing. I'm a long-time Stila user and fan anyway and I got my make-up done at Sephora and the technician used this entire palette and the results were amazing. The colours are ones that you would use every day. Unlike some manufacturers who use these releases to get rid of the less popular colours, I have used every single one of the shadows in this set. I'm ordering this as my second one so I have it on hand and never run out! You really can't go wrong with this and I felt very good value for money at $39.

This palette has great colors in it, and is the perfect marriage between neutrals and color. The neutrals colors have just a touch of green and/or gray in them which give them a unique twist. They stay on best over an eye primer. Without one, they do fade fast.

The texture is not chalky or buttery, but somewhere in between. I love the whole thingthe palette itself is a beautiful light sage green and all of the colors look beautiful in there, as well as on the eyes. I am cool toned medium/light skinned, but I can see these colors going well on warm toned people too.

Well worth the money if you like neutrals and greens, especially.

The liner in this set is also beautiful. It is a black liner with gold bronze shimmer in it and it looks stunning with the colors. The liner stays in place very well and is definitely water resistant if not waterproof as it claims.

I have a lot of palettes, but this one is definitely a combination of unique colors. The pigmentation is excellent and the durability is also excellent over eye shadow primer. Also looks good on older eyesdoes not emphasize crepe look on eyes. Blends well too.
