A thin coat of Allure is very pretty over some of the darker, harsher colors in the Gelish line to soften them or give them a warm, golden glow. I've found that if you clean off the tacky inhibition layer of the base coat or structure gel (if you use it) with alcohol before you apply Gelish colored polish, they seem to go on more evenly and deposit color better.
Another thing I've found is that, once you have noticible nail growth near the cuticles, you can apply a few coats of regular nail polish on top of your Gelish polish and they tend to stay put for several days without flaking as long as your original SOG manicure stays chip-free. I do this to get 3 weeks of wear out of 1 Gelish application. (Sometimes I'll add a thin layer of Gelish top coat on top of the regular polish, but I always wait a few hours to be sure they're completely dry first. Doing this can sometimes give me a total of 3 1/2 weeks without the time consuming process of having to remove the Gelish.) When soaking off the polish, I usually remove the regular polish before I begin the soaking process to speed things along and to keep any color from staining my cuticles.
Finally, a word of caution on product sizing. I had been purchasing my Gelish colors from Sally's Beauty so that I could preview the colors in person before buying. Unfortunately, Sallys only sells the mini's, which are about 2/3's the size of the regular ones you buy on Amazon; .3 oz vs .5oz (the bottles for the regular sizes are almost twice the size.) The price, however, is just about the same. You can tell the difference between the regular size and the minis as the regular sizes have a color dot in the center (like this one) and the minis have a band of color around the top of the label and say Gelish Minis on the front. While I like the convenience of seeing the colors in person, I don't think I'll be making any future purchases from them as you get such a small amount of product.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan and when it came to Gryffindor theme nails for a party this was my go to. Add a top layer of red glitter and boom! Stays 2+ weeks and very pretty!Best Deals on Harmony Gelish Uv Soak Off Gel Polish -Allure (0.5 Oz)
It is so hard to determine the true color of gelish polishes and I missed it on this one completely. Not for me so I will use it as an undercoat.Honest reviews on Harmony Gelish Uv Soak Off Gel Polish -Allure (0.5 Oz)
This color looks a lot like a gold to me. Which is what I wanted so I am happy with it.Two coats is opaque. The thing I struggle with is keeping my nails absolutely clean and oil free while painting them. It takes a LONG time to paint and then process. I use an LED light. My LED light will do 4 fingers or 2 thumbs at a time. So, base coat is 6 minutes. One coat, 6 minutes, 2nd coat 6 minutes, top coat 6 minutes and that is just the time under the light. Well, during that time I inevitably develop an itch or have to touch something. OIL now on my finger. If you have any oil you get a spider web kinda coat or worse, it just won't stick. Spiderweb is fine if you wanted your nails to look like gold spiderwebs. Anyway, this is very pretty color but needs a shiny top coat or it is dull color. You could put some sparkly top coat on it too.
Just expect it to take a long time to do and realize it takes time to do it like the pros. So don't try it the first time before a big event. lasts 2 or 3 weeks.. depending on the growth or your nails.
