I switched to this eyeliner because most other eyeliners burn my eyes. Finding a product that I can wear and that isn't overly expensive is difficult. It does it's job and I can say it doesn't hurt as badly as the other, cheap, eyeliners I have bought, and it doesn't burn immediately. It is terribly easy to smudge however, so be wary of that. I also have to apply it excessively to get a nice, rich, black, unlike previous eyeliners.

Manic Panic has built a good reputation as an ethical, cruelty-free company. Their ingredients are also free of slaughterhouse byproducts, which makes them vegan friendly, yay! Their products make it easier to be an ethical shopper, although I have an issue with the assembly in China, (more about that later).

First, about the product itself:I like the simplicity of having shadow and liner in one easy to carry little case. And the applicator wand has different style applicators on either end. I like this because it reduces waste (one less wand) and it's convenient. You can easily do a clean line and/or smudge, and it seems like doing my eyes is a bit quicker with this stuff than with my previous brand.

The liner and shadow both look great, and have good staying power, although it's not waterproof your makeup won't look perfect while swimming, for example. But for most life applications, it's great. And the skinny case easily fits in a pocket or bag.

The product is made in the USA, which is fabulous, but I've given it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is assembled in China. Doesn't it seem extremely wasteful to manufacture the parts here, ship them all the way from the US to China for assembly, and then ship it back to the US for sale? I'd be more than happy to pay a little more to create jobs in the USA, and for avoiding all that pollution caused by ocean freight liners. For this reason alone, the next time I need eye liner, I'll be investigating other cruelty-free companies.

I am really happy with this product. Because it is a cream eyeliner with sponge-y wand (the other side is a brush for the eyeshadow) you get a lot of application options here. You can do a thick line or a thin line, you can smudge it (my favorite) or keep it simple.

The eyeshadow is a light black, and clings to the eyeliner well.

It fits in my makeup bag and I think is a fair price for a two in one vegan product.

Plus you get a mirror.
