I started using this mascara in 1974! It has always done a great job adding volume and length. If your not satisfied...just add another coat!!! Oh, I've strayed and tried other mascaras, but I usually end up back with Maybelline Very Black, no matter what my hair color might be. In fact, this is the ONLY mascara I have ever used on my lower lashes...don't know why but it does a better job than anything else. No, it's not fancy, it doesn't perform miracles, and it may smudge if you are in the pool or on a water ride at Disneyland. (Don't use the waterproof formula...it's nearly impossible to get off!) But it is a great, dependable mascara that never changes the packaging, therefore EASY to find, is available almost any where mascara is sold, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I would recommend this mascara to anyone who is looking to try a new product on their lashes. And if you purchase this, you will still have money left over to go to lunch!!!

I try the expensive ones...and ALWAYS come back to Great Lash...it is just the best....must be why the makeup artists use it consistently.

I am really unimpressed with this mascara and it irritates me that it makes every "Best of Beauty" list. It is watery and the brush is too small. When I apply this mascara, it does little to build volume or length. I also find that it smudges as the day goes on and ends up straying into the crease under my lower lash line. Not a good look. I'm giving it two stars because it is moderately better than no mascara at all and it did not irritate my eyes. However, if you're looking for a drugstore mascara, I recommend Covergirl Lashblast in either the Fusion or the original orange tube.

My quest for the perfect drugstore brand mascara has ended! Who would have guessed that I ended up with Maybelline Great Lash, the original formula that's been around since before I was born? I have nothing bad to say about this product. The applicator wand is fabulous and allows me to create long, defined lashes and build up the product to get the look I want. The mascara doesn't clump, it doesn't flake...it's perfect! And it's so cheap that it's practically free. I think this will be my new go-to mascara for daily wear...I'm sick of shelling out $25+ for mascaras that don't perform half as well.

Listening to celebrities, I decided to use this product as one of my first mascaras. I am very pleased with it, since it does give the a fuller-than natural look with lengthening. It's not a BAM-party look, but an everyday look. I really do recommend it to the average make up user, ALTHOUGH it does smudge at times, so you may want to check once in a while when you go to the bathroom. Also, I haven't had much problem with it in a drizzling rain, I mean it does smudge in the rain, but it's not running down your cheeks (also doesn't do that much when I cry either...).
