I received this product last weeek and was very excited to try it this weekend when I had time to do my hair. I do not like it as a leave-in at all. I applied this to my hair after washing and conditioning, and let my hair air dry and tried to flat iron it out the next day. My hair was a sticky greasy mess, I tried running my CHI over this leave in and it just sizzled and made my hair flat. I had to rewash my hair, because there was nothing I could do with it. I am switching back to my pureology leave in conditioner because it's not heavy like this. I brought it cause it had a lot of natural ingredients that are healthy and good for the hair. The consistency is like that of gel so I guess I should have known better. It is good as a final touch to add shine to your style, but wouldn't recommend if you are expecting to heat style after applying. My pureology did a lot better and I am definitely switching back, but using this as a final touch every now and again.

John Masters' products are very expensive, but I have to admit I really like this product. I am African-American with very tightly coiled hair, when straightened, my hair is about 3 inches long, when natural, it is half that length. I prefer wearing it coiled because it holds moisture and lasts ... but it takes time doing it. I use a variety of products, but have found this one to work really well. I use it sparingly and alternate with "Fantasia IC hair polisher styling gel" The Shine On is not sticky after applying nor does it flake or leave residue.

I had high hopes of this product. In its favour, it has no horrible chemical smell, nor artificial perfumes. Other than that, it does not make my hair shine, and even though I tried applying it to wet hair, then to dry hair, and experimented with how to dry it, it just made my scalp flakey, my hair gunky, and makes me feel as though my hair needs washing. There are thick strands of hair which have glued together, while the rest of my hair seems coarse and gunky. Perhaps it doesn't agree with my hair type I have long, thick, curly hair which I daren't brush out once it's dry, as it will go really frizzy. I keep thinking that if only I can work out how to use it properly, it will do what it says, but I suspect that, despite the high price, it'll end up in the bin.

I bought this gel to give my hair some shine and hold. After trying the gel on, my hair did get some shine to it, but after 2 hours, my hair lost its shine and became very sticky. For the price you pay for it, you expect better results. Very disappointed in this product and would not buy again.
