We purchased this even before our daughter was born. It is a very cute set and now when she is here, I can also attest that it works well. The brush is good size and soft, and works great to comb the tricky, silky newborn hair. The small comb comes handy for brushing out the cradle cap flakes. We're happy with it the only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think it is a bit pricey. But hey, it is very cute and very girly, which made it worth it for me.

First off, I think this might be the first Amazon review I've written despite the fact that I buy almost everything on Amazon and have for years, and I religiously read all reviews before making any purchase, large or small. I always have the best intentions and want to leave reviews for the products I buy, but with two kids, one a baby and the other an 11-yo with massive amounts of homework every evening, in addition to a full-time job and a husband, I just don't have the time. I wanted to be sure to leave a review for this brush and comb set however, because I feel the reviews don't adequately give credit where it's due in this case, and if I hadn't made the purchase myself despite the poor reviews I'd still be miserable with every other baby brush I've ever tried to use.I own every baby brush available from Target, Amazon, and other random baby boutiques I've encountered along the way, and this is the only one that really brushes my baby's hair well. All the others just don't grip it well enough to brush it properly, or I spend forever trying to brush it, which of course is impossible with a baby. Even the other Ambassador brush available on Amazon (the wooden one with a smaller head) doesn't do as good of a job on my baby's hair, although it does much better than its counterparts. And my baby's hair isn't super thick in my opinion, but it isn't baby fine either. It has some curl and body to it, and after a good night's sleep she often wakes up looking like Lyle Lovett. Not so much after I get ahold of it with this comb and brush, and of course a little bit of water. I remember having the exact same issue with my first baby 11 years ago with regard to finding a good brush, although her hair was just thick and straight with no curl. I don't recall what I used with her, but I know this brush would have worked wonders for her as well. And regarding how the brush looks in person it's exactly as depicted in the picture: a pink, plastic brush. I think it's cute, and I definitely don't see what the other reviewers saw who gave this brush such negative reviews based on how cheap they think it looks. To be clear, I'm by no means after an heirloom quality brush. I just want something that works, and works well. This set does exactly that. I like the comb a lot too small, fine-toothed, and also very effective for thicker baby hair. I have the white set as well, which I love just as much, and I'm about to order two more sets because it is not fun to be without a good baby brush when I need one.
