I'm definitely not sorry I bought this kit. It is a good fall back brush set. I actually purchased the 12 brush kit as well because it had brushes that I really wanted that the 15 roll kit did not. Missing in the 12 kit were the the E60 large shader, F40 large angled contour, F60 foundation, and the F70. I really wanted the E20 short shader and the tapered brushes. When I did the math it just seemed cheaper to buy the 12 and the 15 kit since the brushes in both sets were really different and it would have cost more to buy them individually.

Cons

-These are definitely NOT MAC dupes and I'm really surprised to see so many comparisons made to MAC. Visually they may look the same but when put to the test they just don't make the grade. Why because they bleed when washed, the shed a lot, and they are not as densely packed. They also lose their shape. I have washed mine 3 times and have owned them for over 3 months and they still shed.

Pros

-Price. Heck ya they are cheaper than MAC but my advice would be this. If you are very serious about make up do your research. Brushes are a major investment but they will last you a life time if taken care of properly. My favorite brushes are by Hakuhodo, NARS, Laura Mercier, and MAC. I also like to just use my fingers and gasp, . .a sponge tip applicator. I have a little bit from each brand collection that I've slowly built up over time.

Now who are these brushes good for. A teenager just getting into make up and the student make up artist. These are also good for the gal on a budget. Overall the handles and ferrule are sturdy. They apply make up decently.

One other thing that I should note. If you are truly on a budget you can get a full set of 30 crown brushes owell Cornell paint brushes, but you have to do your research. Of equal price point Sonia Kashuk from Target.

The Crown Set 501 is cheaper of equal quality and has every brush you could possibly need with the exception of the fan brush. They also have an excellent selection of synthetic and natural brushes for less. I mean if you are going to go cheaper you may as well get more.

I personally think from a marketing standpoint Sigma was smart to offer free brush sets to online make up gurus are ask them to promote their products. You will notice that the majority of make up reviewers online have received their make up brush set for FREE for review consideration. I hate to say this but I was sucked into thinking these brushes were total MAC dupes based on some reviews but let me set the record straight these are not dupes. A dupe would be something that without the labels you would not be able to tell the difference between the two. Hope this helps and PLEASE do not send me hate comments. This is my opinion. Take it or leave it but truly in order to know whether a brush is good it needs to be put to what I call the HAND test. You really have to feel it, wash it, and have it in your hands to know.

This is my second brush set purchase from Sigma. I already owned the Professional Complete Kit (which I love as well!), however I really wanted to try out several of the new brushes in the Premium Kit. I'm so glad I purchased this kit!

Some of the brushes DO bleed and shed a bit when when you wash them the first time (but this is normal with most brushes!). After the first wash though, this goes away. The face brushes are so soft. My favorite face brushes are the SS134 (F20) which I use for applying bronzer and the SS138 (F25) which I use for contouring. I'm not going to lie, the SS138 was the main reason I purchased this kit. I was so excited to try it, and I love it. It makes contouring so easy, and does no leave a harsh line like some angled brushes do.

The second reason I decided to purchase this kit was because of the eye brushes. I really wanted to try them all. I already had the travel size SS217 (E25), so I knew I was going to love this one. I use everyday. It's great for applying crease color, blending, and applying an all over lid color. The SS222 (E35) is great if you're not a fan of the 224, I feel like it applies your crease color more precisely. My FAVORITE of the eye brushes was the SS226 (E45). I have smaller eyes, so sometimes when I try to apply my crease color with other blending brushes, I end up applying it to a larger area then I would have liked to. This definitely helps me apply my crease color, and outer-v so much more easily! I didn't think I'd be very blown away by the SS227 (E50), but I love this one as well! It's great for applying your brow-bone highlight, and blending the rest of your eyeshadows.

Overall, I am VERY pleased with this kit! It IS kind of pricey, but you definitely get your money's worth! And it's a fraction of the cost of MAC brushes!
