Seriously, this color DOES look as nice as the paint on a high-end automobile.
I'm a fan of CND's Shellac products and have been doing home application now for over a year. My nails have never been more beautiful. The color "Purple Purple" is, like some of their colors, misnamed in my opinion. This polish is a mix of Navy blue/Silver metallic/Royal blue with an undercurrent of red in there that results in a fine metallic color akin to "blue violet" that changes depending upon the light or what colors you are wearing. (It is especially pretty in the sunlight).
After curing under the UV light, but before the CND top coat is applied, it appears dull, But after the top coat is cured, wow! It is glossy and gorgeous, but NOT purple, per se. I have worn this color with clothing items that were navy, periwinkle, sky blue, royal blue and red, and it was beautiful with all of these colors.
Now, if you really want PURPLE, this polish can become the most beautiful grape color with the addition of a thin coat of CND's "Hot Chilis" on top of two coats of "Purple Purple". Don't forget the CND clear top coat and you are in business!

Overall I like CND gel polish because it's much easier to remove from my nails compared with all other gel polishes (and I've tried several). This particular color is a striking violet with blue undertones, sort of a deep lavender. I've gotten many compliments while wearing this. My only gripe is that the color is slightly less long-lasting than certain other gels, like Calgel, but since it's much easier to remove, it's a lot gentler on my nails.
