I have short, thin lashes, and I have become slightly addicted to trying new mascaras in a never-ending quest to find the "perfect" one. Most recently, I tried another L'Oreal product, L'Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Washable Mascara Blackest Black, and although that seemed to work pretty well for me in the beginning, I found that 1) the brush, which picked up WAY too much product, drove me crazy after awhile, and 2) the mascara began to dry up after only a few months of use.
So, on to a new mascara! I decided to give L'Oreal another try, mainly because I went to the store and most of their mascaras were on sale. I was uncertain about which one to choose, but eventually, I decided on L'Oreal Voluminous Naturale for two reasons. First, I like the idea of a more "natural" look; one of my favorite mascaras in the past has been Maybelline Full 'N Soft Mascara, Very Black .28 oz (in fact, I almost re-purchased it this time, but for some stupid reason, I keep trying other products), so I was hoping that this mascara would be somewhat similar. Also, on the packaging, it specifically stated that this mascara uses a "wipe-clean" style brush, which I was very glad to read--as noted above, one of my mascara pet peeves is getting too much product clumping on the brush.
When I got this mascara home and took it out of the package, I was a little disappointed to discover that the brush is one of the more modern plastic ones rather than a traditional style. Initially, I had thought that these newer brushes were a great innovation, but I've come to believe that they cause more clumping and that they fail to create fullness in the lashes. In using the mascara, I do seem to be able to create decent length, but very little volume--quite surprising for a product with "Voluminous" in the title! Furthermore, to make this mascara noticeable, I really have to work at it, applying several coats; also, I've had a bit of a problem with initial smudging, as the product does not dry as quickly as I'd like.
So, all-in-all, I'd say this mascara is decent, with some redeeming qualities, but it is not what I was hoping for, and definitely not something I would repurchase. The search continues!

I've always used L'Oreal mascaras, but this one was absolutely horrible. I don't know if the product was old or what the issue is, but when you pull out the wand, you can't get it back in the tube because the brush is so flimsy that it bends and wiggles like something out of a joke shop. I bought two from the same seller and had to throw both of them out because the wand wouldn't go back into the tube. I have never seen this happen with any mascara in my life. Do not buy!
