Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I was really hoping that this wouldn't be the usual greasy mess that I've been used to with hair gel since the 90s; my first time trying any pomade, actually. What a pleasant surprise! It goes on clean, wipes off hands easily, and holds a style without creating the plasti-hair look and feel!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Nice pomade. Comes in glass container with a black plastic screw cap and a cool retro-ish look. Hold strength is low to medium, which is nice if you're looking for comfortable, relaxed styling without the overbearing greasy feel of a standard gel or other stronger pomades. A possible knock for some folks is the list of ingredients, which shows a number of chemicals, (including propylene glycol) and thus may be an issue to those who like their beauty products a bit more "natural". That aside, this is a good product that works as described.Honest reviews on Baxter of California Soft Water Pomade, 2 oz.
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program A lot of what is labeled as "pomade" today really isn't it's often some sort of gelly hybrid that makes your hair crunchy and hard. I've longed for a nice pomade for a while my hair is straight and stands up when it dries. I wanted something that would add some weight and shapability to my man-vibrissa.The thatch that sat upon my patch upon the top of my noggin desired something versatile for dining, or driving, or joggin'.
Enter: Baxter of California Soft Water Pomade. This stuff has minimal smell, and I don't mean to sound like a weirdo but I really couldn't stop rubbing my hands through my own mane. If I used a comb, I am certain that I could easily style my hair. As it is, I use my hands and I was able to get a variety of looks that were more than acceptable to both me and my wife.
There's a nostalgic angle for me in this too. Growing up, my dad used Brylcreem in his years. For years, I used gel (or some equivalent) in mine. I stopped combing my hair about 15 years ago or so (I kid you not). I tried his brylcreem for a while back in the day and I liked it for what it was, but it really wasn't for me. I think the big difference between Baxter and the "creem" is that Baxter didn't leave my hair feeling oily or greasy. It left it feeling soft. Overall, outstanding product!
