This may be effective for that. I poured out a small dab of the powder on a flat, clean surface and then dipped my toothbrush with normal toothpaste into the powder. The stuff tastes awful but I can deal with that if it works.
What I am hesitant to deal with are some of the ingredients. I looked up "borneol" on Wikipedia. It says:
"Borneol is an eye, skin, and respiratory irritant; and is harmful if swallowed."
If you put it in your mouth, some of it will surely be ingested. I wish I knew "how harmful" and in what amount.

But in a good way.I currently live in Thailand and was looking for something to put a little more kick in my tooth brushing. The toothpaste here is a bit bland. This is a Thai product and cheap here so I thought I'd give it a try.
It exceeded my expectations! When I finish brushing, my mouth feels squeaky cleaned. Hours later I can still feel the tingle.
I struggled a bit with the best way to use this and settled on what works best for me although others may use it differently. I continue to use toothpaste just to enhance the taste a little so this is a two step process. I dip the toothbrush into the powder and get a nice amount in the brush. Then I lay a short spread of toothpaste on top. At first I would run water over before brushing but that washes away the powder so I tried brushing without and it works great.
I'm telling you, you have never had a more complete toothbrushing in your life.
