As a disclaimer, this is the first and only cream blush I've tried so my review is on general performance as a blush, not comparing it to other cream blushes. Secondly, when I bought this it was only 3.99, making it a great deal, although it seems ELF soon caught on and upped the price. At ELF's current RRP of about 6.99(? I think) I'd say it's still worth it.

Now onto the review.

The colour for Heartbreaker is more pink than the advertised picture. It actually looks like a very natural flush colour on light to medium skin tones. I get a tiny amount on a fingertip and dab/blend that onto my cheekbones for a subtle tint. You can easily build up for a brighter colour. It probably fades a little by the end of the day but I can't really tell given my cheeks' tendency to go pinkish on their own.

The texture is good -not powdery, not greasy. It smells kind of like bubblegum mint, which I like, but could put off people who are sensitive to fragrances.

The jar is quite bulky and heavy, which is the only downside I can think of, but if you don't plan to carry it around, this is no big deal. I actually once dropped it and the jar was fine, but the lid casing cracked (the black square part); fortunately the lid itself was still OK after removing the black casing (and it reduced the bulkiness! unexpected win). There is a little 'freshness sealer' cap under the lid which I've always kept on because I've heard how cream blushes tend to dry out. So far, this hasn't happened and I've owned this for about half a year already and use the blush at least several times a week.

I have these in heartbreaker and tease. Both colors work very well for my very pale complexion. This is a cream to powder formula that applies great with a stippling brush (I've used it with both the ELF stippling brush and the ELF small stippling brush and they both work wonderfully for that). They do faint some during the day, hence the stars, but the colors are really beautiful on the skin and you get a HUGE quantity in the jar. Great purchase!

I thought this was a pink blush, but it is most definitely red. I was looking for a pink blush but I'm happy with the red that it is, but this is an awful picture.

Honest reviews on Studio cream blush

I am getting older & the powder blush just seems to sit on my face like dust. The cream blushes all looked too dark...so I thought this might be a good compromise. It starts out as a powder, but it is hard to get out of the little jar. Once you do get it on to your face & smooth it out, it turns into a cream. Using my fingers was a TOTAL disaster there is no way to get a small finger-tip full. You get a huge poof of powder on your hands, the outside of the jar & all over the counter. I have learned through much trial & error to take a q-tip, grab a teeny-tiny bit & put the q-tip to my cheek & try to blend from there. I still end up looking like 1980s hooker make-up sometimes & have to use paper towels to rub some of it off. It is expensive & a lot of work to use. I wont buy it again.

"Tease" is a great warm blush tone and this specific formula has GREAT pigmentation. Beautiful on skin, only a small amount of product needed.
