i bought this for a gift, and it certainly was a unique one. we use that powdery mineral make-up, and it can make a mess. this mat unfolds to protect the surface you are working on whether it is your lap, a counter, a car seat, whatever. it protects the surface from the make-up and protects you from the germs on the surface. it is well-made and washable. it folds up or you can roll it up with an elastic. very cool idea!!
